Top 100 accolade for Cornish insurance firm
Cornish Mutual has been named in the UK's Top 100 insurance companies for the first time. The Truro-based firm's achievement puts them in the leading group out of more than 530 UK insurers. The Top 100 league table is drawn up annually by industry journal Post Magazine, and ranks insurers by total gross written premiums. Cornish Mutual's inclusion in this year's list reflects sustained growth over recent years. Cornish Mutual, which employs more than 80 people, is the only general insurer based in the South West, with 24,000 members, up 3,000 in the last two years, across Cornwall, Devon, Somerset and Dorset.
Law firm on the move to new offices
Exeter law firm Solicitors Title has moved from South Street to new offices in Gandy Street, the heart of the city's independent stores sector. Partner Janet Milton said: "We are a small practice offering a personal service to our private and business clients. We have a very different ethos to many of the larger, corporate legal firms. When looking for new premises we wanted somewhere which reflected this."

Bodmin-based internet provider MacAce has won the Web Host of the Year title for the third year running. The accolade came in the MacUser UK Awards, and was its second major award this year. The firm won the Best Overall ISP in the Internet Service Provider's Associated Awards in July, which bring together all the UK's hosting and internet companies. This was MacAce's fourth consecutive year for winning major national awards.
Agency set for new home after 10 years
Advertising, marketing and digital agency Chalk & Ward Advertising is preparing to move from its Exeter base. After 10 years at Kings Wharf, the firm is set to relocate to Chichester Place, Southernhay. It is planned to move in to the Grade II listed, five-storey building next March.
Jobs created at pair's new food store
Devon entrepreneurs Harvey Brown and Matthew Symons have opened their fourth sandwich franchise store in Exeter, creating 10 new jobs. The SUBWAY outlet is near Exeter Business Park in Philip House, Honiton Road.
