15-year-old suffers cardiac arrest on Woolacombe beach
A 15-year-old collapsed after a cardiac arrest on Woolacombe beach yesterday.
Emergency services including an ambulance and an RAF Chivenor helicopter were sent out to help the teenager at around 4.30pm.
He was between the car park and the beach where he had collapsed.
An RAF Chivenor spokesman said lifeguards were already on the scene by the time they got there and had managed to resuscitate the teenager using a defibrillator.

He was breathing and had a pulse and was transported to North Devon District Hospital within 20 minutes of the call coming in.
The spokesman said the teenager had suffered from a similar incident previously. It is not known if he lives locally.
