A 750 year Winkleigh tradition could be coming to an end.
A 750-year rural tradition could come to an end because of a lack of volunteers.
The future of Winkleigh Fair – which this year saw a week of activities – is under threat as not enough people have stepped forward to form a new committee.

The last fair committee, who have been responsible for the annual family event for the last six years, resigned after the annual meeting on September 1 and only two people volunteered to form a new one.
Committee member Maxine Morpurgo said this was not the first time the fair's future had faced uncertainty.

She said: "The fair was threatened with closure six years ago, which is when we all joined the committee to save it and take it up to its 750th anniversary, which we did this year.
"However, it is now time for others, with new ideas, to get involved and take the fair forward.
"The committee has received a lot of support from the village over the last six years, so are obviously very disappointed that only two people put themselves forward to form a new committee."
An Extraordinary General Meeting will be held on Monday, September 24, at 8pm in Winkleigh Community Centre. A minimum of five people are needed.
Maxine said: "We would all be very sad to see the fair close after all the work we have done over the years, but are sure that more people will come forward at the meeting on September 24 to continue this historic event."
