A38 closed near Splatford Split after multi-vehicle crash

A recovery vehicle is removing cars from two lanes of the A38 following a crash near Kennford.

Emergency services were called to the A38 just before Splatford Split at 4pm today.

An Isuzu van, a Vauxhall Astra, a blue Mini and a Volkswagen Beetle collided on the Westbound side of the carriageway.

One fire crew from Middlemoor and from Danes castle were called to the crash and found all persons free and clear of the vehicles.

Three female casualties were suffering from whiplash injuries and were treated by paramedics.

Police say the lanes should be reopened by 5pm.
