Acting chief constable confirmed in the role
The acting chief constable of Dorset has landed the post permanently.
The Dorset Police and Crime Panel met yesterday and confirmed the appointment of Debbie Simpson, who has been at the force since October.
The mother-of-two, who joined the police in 1984, said: "I am delighted to have been formally appointed as the Chief Constable of Dorset Police." she added: "I am acutely aware of the challenges that are ahead in what is a very uncertain time for the police service as a whole and I am committed to delivering the best policing service possible."
