Addict tried to wash drug away
A RECOVERING drug addict was caught by police trying to wash a week's supply of heroin down the sink.
Lloyd Maddock, 26, of East Street, South Molton, pleaded guilty at North Devon Magistrates' Court to possessing 891 milligrams of heroin and admitted a Bail Act offence, having failed to show up for a previous hearing.
Magistrate Roger Jackson congratulated Maddock for "a personal triumph" in since becoming clean of heroin.
He ordered Maddock to complete 60 hours of unpaid work and took no action over a conditional discharge Maddock was given in November for theft. Maddock was also ordered to pay a £20 fine with £35 costs.
