VOLUNTEERS at the Marie Curie Cancer Care Shop in Tiverton were joined by the town's Lions Club and The Exe Valley Rotary Club last week to launch the charity's Great Daffodil Appeal.

The Great Daffodil Appeal is Marie Curie's biggest fundraiser, and encourages people to wear a daffodil pin throughout March.

All funds raised will help Marie Curie nurses to provide more free care to local people with a terminal illness in their own homes in Mid Devon.

Natalie Searle, community fundraiser, said: "We need everyone in Mid Devon to donate and wear one of our daffodil pins during March. Every penny is absolutely vital in helping us support people with terminal illnesses in your area, and provide more of the free hands-on care and emotional support Marie Curie Cancer Care are renowned for."

Daffodil pins can be picked up from local stores, Marie Curie volunteer collectors, and Marie Curie shops.

'Wear something yellow to work day' launches this Friday. The scheme aims to encourage workplaces across Devon to add a splash of colour to the day and raise money for Marie Curie Cancer Care at the same time.
