Arrests over bogus calls
THREE men have been arrested in connection with a series of bogus caller incidents near Plymouth.
The three were arrested outside the force area and were being brought to Devon for questioning.
Two properties in South Brent and three in the Newton Abbot area were targeted by callers claiming to be from the water board – and on one occasion police officers. It is alleged the intent was for one person to keep the owner distracted while another person searched their home for cash and valuables.
Police are advising homeowners to be vigilant and not let any unsolicited callers into their homes under any circumstances.

POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a fight between two men in Higher St Budeaux.
A taxi driver dropped off one of the men very close to the Agaton Fort vehicle testing station in Agaton Fort Road at around 7pm on Sunday, October 6. Investigators believe the brawl took place soon afterwards.

FRIENDS of Mount Edgcumbe Park have organised a spooky half term event.
Children's Halloween fun is set to take place on Thursday, October 31 and activities include a trail with scary haunted house, scavenger hunt and mask making.
There is also a fancy dress competition with prizes for the best Halloween outfits which is to be judged at 2pm, the start time for the event.
Tickets are available in the Orangery, £2 per child.
