Arson suspected in derelict caravan fire

A fire appliance from Torrington was sent to a report of a fire in the open in a car park at Weare Giffard, south of Bideford, on Saturday evening.

On arrival crews confirmed that a derelict caravan was on fire, so a second fire appliance was mobilised from Bideford. Crews extinguished the fire using compressed air foam, with two breathing apparatus wearers.

Devon & Somerset Fire & Rescue Service reported that the cause of the fire was deliberate.
