The number of children admitted to hospital with symptoms of asthma has fallen since the ban on smoking in enclosed public places came into effect, a study has found. Research shows there was a 12.3% fall in admissions in the first year after the law came into place in July 2007, and these have continued to drop in subsequent years, suggesting that the benefits of the legislation were sustained over time. NHS statistics analysed by researchers at Imperial College London showed the fall was equivalent to 6,802 fewer hospital admissions in the first three years of the law coming into effect.

“Haha!...yet more propaganda from the anti-smoking zealots, which, unfortunately, will be believed by most of the gullible sheeple out there.

The FACT is, 40 years ago when every man and his dog were smokers, asthma was unheard of. Since then, the smoking rates have been rapidly declining, and what do we get?...yes...every other kid you see has an asthma inhaler stuck in his gob. You don't need studies to prove this, you can see it with your own eyes.

The FACT is, that smoking actually PREVENTS asthma, as UNBIASED scientific research has shown time and time again, but of course, the tobacco control fed media won't tell you this.

In a multivariate analysis, children of mothers who smoked at least 15 cigarettes a day tended to have lower odds for suffering from allergic rhino-conjunctivitis, allergic ASTHMA, atopic eczema and food allergy, compared to children of mothers who had never smoked (ORs 0.6-0.7). Children of fathers who had smoked at least 15 cigarettes a day had a similar tendency (ORs 0.7-0.9).
