The school's English department organised the visit in conjunction with Torbay Bookshop in Paignton.

Joe was undertaking a book tour of the West Country and was exploring aspects of the writing journey.

He told students how he had first been inspired to create the Spooks series, how long it takes to write a book and the process which takes place before it is finally published.

Students queued to have a signed copy of one of his novels.
