NEW police chief Tony Hogg has had his eyes opened by a night with officers policing Plymouth's clubland.
He has vowed to make tackling alcohol misuse a top priority after seeing first-hand the challenge police face.
The number of crimes linked to alcohol misuse, from anti-social behaviour through to domestic violence, is frequently reported in The Herald.
Mr Hogg is to be commended for recognising the severity of the problem. But he must ensure it is tackled alongside the many other policing issues which affect our city.
