Barnstaple defeated in National Three south west derby at Newton Abbot
BARNSTAPLE lost 17-7 at Newton Abbot in a match that finished with uncontested scrums.
The home side were leading the National Three south west game 11-7 around the hour mark when they were left without a full complement of front-row forwards.

Kevin Squire, the Barnstaple director of rugby, said: "Both sides played well and worked very hard – it was nip and tuck all game.
"If the game had stayed with contested scrums, we could have won it. That was the area where we had an advantage."
