Bay firm will help forge links in States
ONE of Torbay's leading High Tech firms has offered to help forge the area's links with the USA.
Torbay Council is proposing to appoint consultants in America to liaise with potential investors through the Torbay Development Agency.
Martin Foulger, of Spirent, based at Aspen Way, Paignton, told the Mayor's Forum while they are a UK company, their head office is in San Francisco.
He said the company specialises in telecommunications testing, operating both in Europe, America and Asia.

The Paignton company sells globally and develops and tests the GPS chip and navigation system used in items like smart phones and cars.
"If you are wandering around Torquay checking where you are on your phone, the chances are the enabling technology came from a business on the outskirts of Paignton," he said.
"We are connected into all sorts of companies, the European Space Agency, NASA, Boeing, and smart phone companies.
"We do a lot of business in the UK and Japan and would be very happy to help Torbay with its presence and promotion in the United States and Europe."
