Bideford clear of Southern League relegation zone after Barwell draw
KEVIN SQUIRE scored as Bideford earned a 1-1 draw at fifth-placed Barwell in the Evo-Stik League Southern premier division.
The Robins are five points clear of the relegation zone after a committed performance in Leicestershire.
Jack Furzer and Dominic Rivans returned to the starting line-up alongside Aaron Harper-Penman in a three-man central defence.
And the tactical switch paid off as Barwell struggled to create chances to test goalkeeper Paul Hider.

Sean Downing fired a chance over and Matt Andrew had a shot saved as Bideford carved out the better openings in the first half.
Richard Groves, recalled in midfield in place of the unavailable Matt Bye, whipped in a free kick for Squire to head the opening goal on 58 minutes.
But Barwell hit back straight away when Matt West followed up to score after a fine save from Hider.
Bideford continued to defend solidly and worked hard to secure only their second away point of the season.
On Tuesday, they are in action in the Devon St Luke's Cup at Elburton Villa, of the Carlsberg South West Peninsula League.
A goal at each end of the game saw Barnstaple Town beaten 2-0 at home by Radstock Town in the Toolstation Western League.
But the hosts will have been encouraged by their positive response to Radstock's 12th-minute opener from Isaac Reid who rounded the goalkeeper after Cameron Brown's through-ball.
They went close to levelling in the second half but Radstock goalkeeper Chris Wright was equal to efforts from Ross Jones and Danny Jenkins who also struck the post at a corner.
The visitors secured the points five minutes from time when the ball broke to Josh Reid wide on the right and he drilled a shot inside the far post.
Both sides hit the woodwork as Ilfracombe Town held Cadbury Heath to a goalless draw.
Combe's efforts ended the premier division leaders' run of five home wins as well as halting their own run of three defeats in away league games.
Boca Seniors finally played their Graddon Vending Devon Premier Cup third-round tie against Okehampton Argyle – at the fifth attempt.
Boca conceded home advantage but, after a 1-1 draw, went through 5-3 on penalties. They will be away to Exeter University in the fourth round next Saturday.
Appledore and Holsworthy played their fourth-round ties today but both went out of the competition.
Appledore lost 3-1 at Stoke Gabriel while Holsworthy were beaten 4-2 at home by Teignmouth.
