Bideford manager Sean Joyce calls for caution as ice takes firm grip
It will be another weather-watching Saturday for Evo-Stik League Southern clubs and their supporters – but Bideford players and fans have already been spared a Premier Division trip to Redditch today.
The match was called off yesterday morning due to snow and Robins boss Sean Joyce was still adamant that Tuesday's decision for Cambridge City not to travel to the Sports Ground for their Premier Division fixture was a victory for common sense.

Joyce said: "Our pitch may have been playable but you have to take into account the fact that Cambridge have got to travel across country to get to North Devon in the first place, which is a logistical nightmare at the best of times in bad weather but when you throw in snow and ice … it was common sense to call it off early.
"At our level players have got jobs to go to, money to be earned and these are not easy times. You only have to look at the TV to see what the weather has been like across the country to realise that when it snows like it has been then the best course of action is to stay close to home."

Tiverton Town are due to visit Shortwood United, whose Tuesday home Division One South & West game against Swindon Supermarine was postponed. The chances of today's match going ahead appeared "exceedingly slim" according to Shortwood's official website.
Tiverton last played a league game on Saturday January 5, when they drew 1-1 at home to Bishop's Cleeve.
Top-scorer Joe Bushin is hoping to become the first Tiverton Town player to notch 30 goals in a season for 15 years. The former Dawlish Town hitman has been in blistering form this season, bagging 17 league goals to leave him top of the Southern League Division One South & West scoring charts.
Phil Everett was the last Tivvy player to break that barrier, with 33 goals in the 1997-98 campaign. Tivvy have 20 league matches of the campaign left – excluding any potential play-off games – and Bushin is hoping to make them count.
"Somewhere up around the 30 mark would be nice. I think I've got around 16 or 17 so far, so a few more before the season ends would be good," he said.
"I think I got about 13 or 14 last season, so I have already done better than that. It's shaping up to be a good season. I'm in the right positions and getting a bit of luck in terms of things falling for me."
Taunton Town are set to visit in-form Yate Town, whose trip to Abingdon last Saturday was snowed off.
