BIKERS from around the UK will be passing through Plymouth next week on a marathon charity ride to raise money for servicemen and their families.

The first Bergan relay, in support of the charity Afghan Heroes, will be starting in King's Lynn on Saturday, September 4, and will pass through 60 towns and cities in 48 hours.

Members of the public can track the progress of the ride at www.tracker.co.uk/afghanheroes

Andy Whaites, a father of a soldier in the British Armed Forces and the organiser of the event, said: "I am amazed at the support received so far. We already have riders for each leg to pass over the Bergan but we desperately need support riders.

"We are calling on anyone with a motorbike, scooter or moped to get involved and make this a monumental weekend."

For information on how to get involved, join the event's Facebook page or follow Bergan Relayuk on Twitter.
