Black van 'art' is not moving

Exeter Express and Echo

I WONDER how many motorists have spotted the latest piece of roundabout art which has been decorating the Countess Wear roundabout for at least the past seven weeks.

A black van has been perched on top of the roundabout for this length of time, being slowly vandalised by feral members of the "after dark" variety.

I did telephone and report its presence to the local constabulary at least four weeks ago, when it had already been perched in situ for three weeks and while the muddy tyre tracks and broken bush still highlighted its final path from Bridge Road to its ultimate resting place on the grassy knoll.

But there it remains to this day, a haven for wild birds and animals. One can only surmise that should a pair of birds decide to build their nest in it, it will then be decided by the powers that be that it should remain there until any young birds fledge, thus deferring another decision for a rainy day!
