Bootcamp opportunities for aspiring apprentices
BUSINESS boot camps are being run every months for prospective apprentices.
Young people who want to become apprentices are offered an intensive training courses on what businesses want.
Unemployed youngsters between the ages of 16 and 18 will get the chance to hone their work skills at a boot camp run by Whiz Kidz, a business club for young people at Plymouth City Council-owned City Business Park, in Stoke.
The course is an intensive week of training and support on core employability skills.

Those on the course get to meet and talk to employers working in the City Business Park to get a realistic understanding of workplace expectations.
Eilis Bond was among the first to take part in a pilot scheme and is now organising the boot camps and will shortly take up her administration apprenticeship at the City Business Park.
The 19-year-old said: "There are a lot of young people with brilliant qualifications behind them but who need a bit of a nudge and support to get employment.
"This helps with interview technique, using computer and office equipment and other issues they have not considered such as the tone and language of business communications."
There is also a follow-up period of six weeks where those who have been on the course can drop-in and take advantage of intensive job search skills offered.
Council leader Tudor Evans said: "We've made jobs and skills one of our top priorities and this a great example of the council working with small businesses and young people so that youngsters can get clear ideas of the skills they need from the people who will employ them."
Cllr Nicky Williams, Cabinet member for Children and Young People, said: "We've made tackling unemployment among our young one of the council's key priorities.
"But in some cases, young people have not had enough experience of a working environment to know what employers want, which is why they struggle to get their foot in the door.
"This sort of practical advice will make a real difference not just to our young people."
