In the past month Amanda Burden of estate agents Luscombe Maye has received no fewer than four beautiful bouquets of flowers delivered to her office in Totnes.

The flowers were tokens of appreciation for Amanda's success helping her clients with contentious planning matters throughout Devon and Cornwall.

Amanda is a partner in Luscombe Maye, with responsibility for agriculture and rural planning. She has received flowers thanking her for work in the planning districts of South Hams, West Devon, Mid Devon and Teignbridge.

Amanda prides herself on her "common sense no-nonsense approach" with difficult (and also simpler) rural planning applications. She works hard to provide a detailed application at the start but also ensures she liaises closely with the planning officer throughout the normal eight-week planing process to pre-empt and deal with any queries at the earliest opportunity.

Amanda has successfully helped to achieve planning permission for several new dwellings throughout Devon. Some are for new farm holdings and others are second dwellings for established holdings.

She has also worked on applications for occupational dwellings for various types of rural employment including agricultural contracting and dog kennels.

Amanda also advises on all types of rural planning from farm buildings to diversification projects, barn conversions to rural dwellings.

So Totnes High Street has seen regular deliveries to Luscombe Maye from Dutch Quality Flowers, a specialist flower and house plant shop in the town. "The only problem has been convincing my husband that they are all from happy clients," says Amanda.
