Bow ease past Chagford to make second round
BOW AAC disposed of league new boys Chagford 2-0 in the first round of the East Devon Senior Cup.
The Mid Devon side progressed to the second round with goals from Alex Bowden and Lloyd Copp.
Premier Division champions Thorverton were too strong for Wellington Town Reserves as they won 5-1. Darren Osmond and Lee Radford both scored twice and Bradley Riggs converted a penalty.
Witheridge Reserves led hosts Beer Albion 2-1 but eventually went down 3-2.
Elmore Reserves, under new manager Joe Vinnicombe, succumbed 5-3 at East Budleigh while Cullompton Reserves were routed 6-1 at Topsham Town.
Westexe Rovers edged out Crediton United Reserves 3-2 in the second round of the Bill Slee Cup. Luke Passmore, Ricky Butt and Shane Hogan, with a penalty, scored for Westexe.
Uplowman Athletic won 1-0 at Sidbury Reserves with a Kevin Mills goal.
Culm United are also through after they beat Exmouth Amateurs Reserves 3-1. Richard Harris (2) and Bradley Newberry netted for Culm.
Bickleigh Reserves beat Sandford 3-2 after being under the cosh for an hour. Goals for Sandford came from manager Dean Pigeon and substitute Phil Greenslade on his return from a season at Crediton.
Kentisbeare crashed 4-2 at home to Chard Town Reserves despite two goals from Matt Snell.
Thorverton Reserves also went out, losing 4-2 at home to Newtown Reserves. Sean Window and Liam Vanstone scored for the hosts.
Newton St Cyres lost 2-1 against Topsham Town Reserves and Bampton were swept aside 7-0 at Sidmouth Town Reserves.
Cullompton thirds were the only Mid Devon side to make the second round of the Football Express Cup as they beat Exmouth Town Reserves 4-2. Westexe Reserves went out of the competition 2-1 at Awliscombe United, Matt Lindsay scoring their only goal, and Uplowman Reserves were blown away 5-1 at home by Whipton & Pinhoe. The only Uplowman goal came from Jamie O'Loughlin.
Bampton Reserves took Feniton Reserves to extra time before going down 4-3, with Jack Takle (2) and Rob Sheen their scorers, Silverton lost 3-2 against Priory and Culm Reserves foundered 5-1 at Broadclyst Reserves, Graham Bowles with their consolation.
Sandford Reserves booked a quarter-final slot in the Geary Cup with a 5-3 win at North Tawton Reserves. Two-goal Andy Uren, Yann Frampton, Sid Rogers and Lee Bullingham shared the goals.
Chris Acton shone in Cheriton Fitzpaine's 3-1 win in the second round at home to Halwill Reserves. James White (2) and Abi Diane scored for Cheriton.
Hemyock Reserves beat Tipton St John Reserves 5-3 with Ben Hawkes (3) and Alex Baird (2) on target. Morchard Bishop Reserves are out, beaten 2-1 by Colyton Res.
Chris Hawkins scored all four goals as Bradninch won 4-3 at Feniton thirds in round one.
In one of just three opening day league games, Bow AAC came from two goals down to win 3-2 at Countess Wear Dynamoes in Division Seven.
