Community celebrates the river with a festival
-

The River Erme is the inspiration for an arts festival this weekend in the Devon moorland town of Ivybridge. The community has got together to mark its geographical position as Gateway to the Two Moors Way and the presence of the river which links to the sea. Ivybridge Arts Festival opens tomorrow and continues until October 12. It promises dance, performance, music, art walks and community events. It's initiated by local artist Amanda Pellatt who said: "The festival has already become a platform for new events and projects to be started – a fitting legacy". Full details at www.ivyarts.org.
