Boy injured after collision with car in Paignton

Police and paramedics were called to a collision involving a young boy and a car this afternoon.

The 11-year-old suffered what police described as cuts and bruises after colliding with a car on the A3022 Totnes Road in Paignton.

The incident happened at 3:45pm and closed the road in both directions between Hayes Road and Winner Street.

A police spokeswoman said: "The boy's injuries were not life threatening or life changing."

The ambulance was called but left the scene at 4.20pm and the road was reopened.
