VOLUNTEERS who run a tea bar at a court have handed over money to good causes, including a Scout troop.

The ladies of the Retired and Senior Volunteer Programme donated £2,000 raised at the cafe in Plymouth Magistrates' Court.

Leaders and members of the 30th Plymouth Scout Group, based in Leigham, visited the tea bar to collect £500.

The money will go towards an ice-skating trip and a summer camp.

Further awards of £500 have been made to the Alabere Home for service veterans in Lipson, which will go towards buying a computer.

The Sherwell Child Contact Centre has received the same sum for Christmas presents for youngsters whose parents are separated.

And a further £500 has gone to the RSVP's regional headquarters.
