Brixham Fishstock festival organisers' delight at new sponsorship
THE organisers of one of Brixham's most successful and fastest growing festivals are already looking towards 2013.
Fishstock Brixham has teamed up with Coombe Fisheries as part of a five-year sponsorship deal.

The company put its name to the main stage for the award-winning one-day Seafood and Music Festival.
Fishstock has been raising some £10,000 a year for the Fishermen's Mission.

Capt Jim Portus (pictured), the leader of a team of volunteers which organises and runs Fishstock Brixham, said: "This pledge from Coombe Fisheries' managing director, Iain Spear, follows their valuable contribution to the event earlier this year and is a magnificent gesture of generosity and commitment not only to the festival, but to the fishing industry, the community upon which it is based and to the discerning consumers of fabulous fish.
"Our award-winning 2012 festival donated £10,000 to the Fishermen's Mission. Without our sponsors and grant-aid we would have so much less to give to the mission, who in turn would not be able to fulfil the vision of the founding father, Ebenezer Mather in 1881."
The date has already been set for Fishstock 2013. The event will take place on Saturday, September 7.
Capt Portus said he was looking to stage a fund-raising concert in Brixham in the spring and hold a 'seafood cruise' with Greenway Ferry and Leisure Cruises in the summer, all to help with the organisational costs of running Fishstock.
"I cannot thank enough the warmth and generosity Iain Spear and all at Coombe Fisheries have shown to the Fishermen's Mission and to the Fishstock Brixham team," Capt Portus added.
"Other aspects of the festival are available for sponsorship, including the Brixham Chefs Piazza, sponsored in 2012 by Kitsons, and the Maritime Heritage zone, sponsored in 2012 by Maritime International Solutions Ltd."
