'unique' attraction: Shoalstone pool at Brixham
The event is being organised by the Friends of Shoalstone Pool group to rally support and look at ways of keeping the open-air, seawater tourist facility open.
Suzanne Mieczkowska, secretary of the Friends, said: "It was encouraging to read the mayor's budget in the Herald Express and to see Shoalstone Pool was not specifically named in the forthcoming cutbacks.

"We very much hope after such a show of support from the town in getting the pool ready for opening this year, and Brixham's willingness to assist with this, Torbay Council is now in no doubt whatsoever what an important and unique community and tourist attraction the pool is."
The Friends will hold their public meeting on Thursday, January 17, at Brixham Rugby Club, starting at 7pm.
The committee of the Friends of Shoalstone Pool can be contacted by post at c/o 1 Higher Alston Cottages, Churston TQ5 0HT.
