Building firm fined £10,000 over worker's fall
A BUILDING firm has been fined £10,000 after a worker fell while removing flooring, a court has heard.
W Cooper and Son (Plymouth) breached health and safety regulations leading to the man's serious injury, city magistrates were told.
Employee Geoffrey Burt fell about 2.3 metres while working in Commercial Road, Coxside, the court was told.
The company admitted failing to discharge its duty as far as practicable to ensure the safety of its workers. It was prosecuted by the Health and Safety Executive.
