CHARITY TAKES ON LANDMARK STORE
ONE of the largest retail spaces in Tiverton town centre is to become the town's latest charity shop, ending two years of speculation over its future.
The former Waterstone's book shop in Fore Street will be occupied by the YMCA, which has more than 150 shops nationwide.
The organisation, which runs some of the largest charity shops in the UK, is hoping to open within 10 days.
It's arrival has been greeted with a cool response from traders although Councillor Sue Griggs, part of the Tiverton Team and chair of the traders' association, said a charity use was better than an empty shop.
