THE following cases have been dealt with by Plymouth magistrates.

LOUIS BATTERSHILL, aged 27, assaulting a woman by beating – 12-month community order with 150 hours unpaid work, ordered to pay £85 costs.

PAUL FRANCE, aged 47, of Dockray Close, Plymouth: assaulting a man by beating and assaulting a woman by beating – 12-month community order with 200 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay costs of £350 and compensation of £325.

JACK PRETTEJOHN, aged 22, of Severn Place, Plymouth: assaulting two police officers in the execution of their duty, threatening behaviour, possession of mephedrone, intentionally exposing his genitals and being drunk and disorderly – jailed for 24 weeks and ordered to pay £350 compensation.

DAVID ELBROW, aged 33, of Wythburn Gardens, Plymouth: making an insurance document with intent to deceive and driving without insurance – 12-month community order with 100 hours unpaid work, fined £150 and ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

JAMES FERCHAL, aged 28, of Greenbank Avenue, Plymouth: three counts of interfering with motor vehicles – 12-month community order with 100 hours of unpaid work, ordered to pay compensation of £173.

JOHN LAVERTY, aged 37, of Harvey Street, Torpoint: theft of a bottle of vodka worth £5 in breach of a prison licence – returned for 32 days for the breach, plus eight weeks for the latest offence.

DAMIEN MCEVOY, aged 39, of Arundel Crescent, Plymouth: interfering with a motor vehicle and breaching a drinking banning order – fined £100, ordered to pay £15 victim surcharge.

LEE RODRIGUEZ-MARTINEZ, aged 31, of Budshead Road, Plymouth: theft of a vacuum cleaner worth £300 and spirits worth £300 and vodka worth £40 and handling stolen trainers – jailed for 32 weeks.

RICHARD RON JONES, aged 27, of Emma Place, Plymouth: burglary of a flat, taking jewellery, camera and other personal belongings and theft of a handbag and contents worth £240 – four-month prison sentence suspended for 12 months, with 130 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £260 compensation and £40 costs.

STEVEN WESTON, aged 44, of Cremyll Street, Plymouth: theft of a frozen leg of lamb from Iceland, theft of ham and coffee from Lidl, theft of face creams from Savers – 18-month community order under probation supervision with the Thinking Skills requirement.

KEVIN KELLOW, aged 54, of Mothecombe Walk, Plymouth: racially-aggravated threatening behaviour – fined £435, ordered to pay £600 costs and £15 victim surcharge.

MIRIAM VANDERZWALMEN, aged 21, of Cecil Avenue, Plymouth: showing an indecent image to a child and procuring a child to make an indecent image – 18-month community order under probation supervision with 80 hours unpaid work and ordered to pay £85 prosecution costs.
