Campaign to boost Torbay's year-round tourism trade
TORBAY is reviving its reputation as a winter resort.
The Bay's tourism industry was initially built on the attractiveness of its warm winter months.
Now, as part of the delivery of the Turning the Tide for Tourism in Torbay strategy, a new marketing campaign has been launched to attract visitors to the English Riviera throughout the winter months.
The English Riviera Tourism Company campaign called Winter Escapes on the English Riviera is designed to increase shoulder season occupancy and boost the resort's reputation as a year-round destination.

More than 100 businesses have signed up to join the free marketing campaign, which promotes a series of added-value and winter special offers on a new website www.englishriviera.co.uk/winterescapes
Lydia Stone, brand marketing executive at the ERTC, said: "We hope this new marketing campaign will provide a catalyst to inspire businesses to consider their year-round product.
"We want to encourage businesses to develop and promote creative added-value packages and experiences to attract more visitors to the English Riviera during the quieter shoulder months as we have one of the most enviable micro climates in the UK."
The site is being promoted on Google and also heavily advertised on the English Riviera's main consumer website.
Offers will run between November 1 and Easter.
The online marketing is supported by an offline map/brochure, which will be available at Paddington and Waterloo stations, and included as an insert in all requests for the official English Riviera guide for the remainder of the year.
