Car damaged after hitting lamppost in Plymouth
THIS was the scene after a car hit a lamppost yesterday.
The vehicle ended up on its side and was badly damaged in Victoria Road, St Budeaux. The lamppost was also bent out of shape.
Police said the driver was fortunate not to be injured following the accident at lunchtime.
Officers closed Victoria Road between Verna Road and Peter's Park Lane for about three hours.

Inspector Marcus Laine said: "Luckily the driver walked away unharmed."
He added the car suffered significant damage for an uphill stretch of a road with a 30mph speed limit.
The accident happened in fine dry but cold weather.
