CAR dealer AJ Blackler at Newton Road, Torquay, found combining their resources with fundraisers with a local Scout group and Brixham College enabled them to raise almost £1,000 for Children in Need.

In the build up to the big day, customers were able to buy various Pudsey Bear-related items and also guess the amount of balls in a brand new Peugeot 107.

Brixham College sold Pudsey armbands and 1st Kingskerswell Scout Group held a pop up café and helped count more than 3,000 balls which had been scattered in a car at the showroom as part of a competition for customers where they had to guess how many balls were in the vehicle.

Penny Eustice, who helped organise the fundraising initiative between a popular local business and who also volunteers with her local Scouts, said: "It was a really fun day, we had lots of people come along to our coffee morning and support the Scouts to raise money for Children and Need.
