Car and pedestrian in serious collision on A379 Torbay Road
A serious collision closed a major road in Devon for four hours yesterday evening.
Emergency services were called to the A379 Torbay Road in Torquay between Shedden Hill and Victoria Parade at 6.54pm after a car and a pedestrian collided.
A police spokesman said the road was be closed after a male pedestrian was knocked unconscious.
The council were called to put up road closure signs while emergency crews attended to the injured man.

The man was taken to Torbay Hospital for treatment for suspected broken bones.
This morning police say he was kept in hospital overnight but is now in a stable condition.
At 9:38pm there were reports of long traffic delays in the area and the road was reopened by 10:55pm.
