Combe Martin and Woolacombe in Devon have been named among the 30 best places for a second home by The times today.
Combe Martin, which placed fourth, was described by the newspaper as "a quiet and unspoilt village" and recommended for its traditional pubs, uncrowded beach and as an idyllic place for country walks.
Woolacombe was praised for being perfect for young families and "lively with all the attractions of a seaside town but without the tacky arcades and pier".
The paper also highlighted Woolacombe's wide variety of outdoor pursuits such as surfing, kite flying, horse riding and hiking.
