Competitive bidding over former card shop's sale
Phone bids came from as far away as Miami for a former Clinton Cards shop on Falmouth's Market Street.
Offered at a guide price of between £500,000 and £525,000, the property was sold for £545,000 to an undisclosed buyer with established local connections at a London property auction.
Joint auctioneers Stratton Creber Commercial and CBRE sold the premises acting on behalf of a private property company based in the capital. Vickery Holman represented the buyer.
Stratton Creber's Tim Smart said that there was "some quite serious bidding" over the premises, secured by a buyer who is understood to already own a number of properties in the town.
