Contrasting styles unpick the landscape
GREAT ATLANTIC GALLERY FALMOUTH
Breaking with her tradition of spring exhibitions, St Just artist Carrie Taylor is presenting a collection of mixed-media paintings for the autumn season.
-

Carrie Taylor's A Part of the Landscape, at 36x43cm, is £675
Showing alongside her is Darren Stevenson, an artist nominally resident in Nottinghamshire who spends much of his time painting on Bodmin Moor and around the Camel Estuary. Whereas Carrie's figurative paintings feature recognisable flora and fauna, Darren's oils are semi-abstract, chronicling the impact of tide and weather on the river, sea and sky. His studies include Camel Estuary, Rock Point, Trebarwith and Polzeath Bay.
As the days draw in and a damp, grey winter approaches, these two artists highlight in their own respective ways the many features that make the Cornish landscape special – whatever the season.
