Conversion of Plymouth Dome to Gary Rhodes restaurant complete next month
TV CHEF Gary Rhodes will have converted the Plymouth Dome into his waterfront restaurant by next month.
Building work is nearly complete at the Rhodes @ The Dome restaurant, bar and events suite with large picture windows being created from the solid block walls.
And the celebrity, famous for his Rhodes Around Britain TV show, has appointed a chef and general manager for his Plymouth diner.
Liam Rutherford joins from Rhodes' flagship W1 restaurant in London.

He said: "I loved Plymouth from the moment I arrived, and the opportunity to continue working with Gary in such a superb location is one I could not miss.
"I have secured a home and will be moving to Plymouth at the end of the month so I can oversee the development of the kitchen and start meeting suppliers, fishermen and producers.
"I have already appointed my senior sous chef and will be looking to recruit many of my kitchen brigade from the Plymouth area."
General manager David Pover joins from the renowned St Ives Harbour Hotel.
He said: "I spent a lot of my childhood in Plymouth, and so this is something of a homecoming.
"I'm looking forward to building a strong team from the local community."
Rhodes @ The Dome's reservations diary will be released in October.
The eaterie will contain a main Dome bar which seats 50, an outside terrace seating 20, a main restaurant area with 130 covers including two private dining rooms, one for 12 and one for 20.
The restaurant will be open seven days a week for lunch and dinner with extended lunchtime opening on Saturday and Sunday.
In addition there is a 200 capacity function suite with its own bar, entrance and wedding chapel.
Mr Pover said: "We have already taken a large number of bookings for next year and anticipate it will not be long before all of the available dates for 2013 have been reserved."
He added: "We see Rhodes @ The Dome being a widely accessible venue and not simply a fine dining or special occasion venue, given the wonderful location."
