COTEHELE, the National Trust property near Saltash, has scooped silver in an annual tourism awards.

The estate has become a year-round visitor attraction and last year clocked up more than 130,000 visitors.

It won silver in the Large Visitor Attraction of the Year category at the Cornwall Tourism Awards.

The National Maritime Museum, in Falmouth, took the sought-after gold award and Tate St. Ives was handed the bronze.
