Council helping tenants cope with heating costs
MID Devon District Council has received £100,000 to further improve the energy efficiency of a number of homes in the area.
The Government grant means that solar panels and air-source heat pumps can be installed at 85 council houses.
Councillor Ray Stanley, cabinet member for housing, said: "This award, which is being match-funded by the council, will improve the energy efficiency of some of our properties. These improvements will assist some tenants to cope with rising fuel costs."
