Council vote in Yeo Valley
AN election will take place in Barnstaple to replace Councillor Christine Brennan on Thursday, May 2.
Mrs Brennan stepped down from the council last month to spend more time working with a voluntary organisation.
The vacancy, in the town's Yeo Valley ward, will now be filled by an election, after more than ten electors wrote to North Devon Council's returning officer to request one.
Nominations for the election are now open and papers can be obtained from the Civic Centre in Barnstaple. Completed nomination papers should be returned to the returning officer at Room 313, Civic Centre, Barnstaple, EX31 1EA. The deadline is April 5.
