Cricket club likely to return to Tivvy
AFTER many years of exile, a Tiverton sports club looks set to return to the town.
For the last two years Tiverton and Bickleigh Cricket Club has been playing in Culmstock, and members say they have stagnated while being based so far away.
It is hoped a move back into Tiverton could help attract new players to the club.
The club used to play matches on a pitch to the rear of Tiverton High School playing fields, and are hoping to move back to a site near the school from next season.

In recent years, the club has made use of facilities at both Blundell's School and latterly at Culmstock.
However, the club estimates it needs around £6,000 to make the move back into the town, with Tiverton High School providing some funding to the project, with the club agreeing to provide coaching support for young players in return.
The club has applied for funding under the Towns and Parishes (TAP) scheme.
Members of Tiverton Town Council's finance and general purposes committee discussed a second bid for TAP funding at their meeting on Monday, September 10.
Councillor Kevin Wilson said he was in favour of the project receiving in excess of £5,000.
Cllr Tony Hendy said he supported the scheme but argued the scheme should "match funding provided by the school and no more".
However, the committee recommended that the fund award should be set at £5,000 but the final figure will be determined by members of the TAP committee, which is separate from Tiverton Town Council.
Tim Reed, from Tiverton Cricket Club, said: "We are very excited about the prospect of bringing cricket back to the centre of the town."
