THE man in charge of the first ever police and crime commissioner elections in Devon and Cornwall has admitted there are logistical hurdles to overcome.

Voters in Plymouth – and the rest of the Westcountry – will go to the polls on November 15.

In all, there will be 1,375 polling stations across the region, staffed by approximately 3,849 people.

Cornwall Council chief executive Kevin Lavery said in a briefing paper that the time of year could be "a real challenge" and warned of "a complex and potentially very long count".
