Crowning around with a new single and shenanigans in a cave
Exuberant Cornish quartet Crowns, purveyors of a unique and infectious twisted folk that they have dubbed fish punk, have announced their first home county show of 2013, and it's in a cave.
The rabble-rousing ensemble, originally from Launceston, and now based in the capital, will play Carnglaze Caverns near Liskeard, on Friday, April 19.
It is their first gig in Cornwall since they stormed the main stage at Looe Music Festival back in September, playing to a crowd of more than 5,000 revellers.
The Carnglaze show announcement comes hot on the heels of the release of their latest single, Four Walls , taken from their debut album, Stitches in the Flag, recorded at London's Rak Studios and issued on their own Ship Wreckords label. The video for the single has already had more than 58,000 views on YouTube.

Their live Maida Vale session for BBC Radio 1's Punk Show with Mike Davies was broadcast on Wednesday.
Earlier this year, the band – lead singer and guitarist Bill Jefferson, bass player and vocalist Jake Butler, mandolin maestro Jack Speckleton and drummer Nathan Haynes – won a raft of new fans when they opened for US Celtic folk rock giants Dropkick Murphys on their UK tour and staged their own London showcase at the Old Blue Last.
With a Japanese release for the album and slots at this summer's Glastonbury and Download, as well as a string of other festivals in the pipeline, they are, quite literally flying the flag for their beloved Cornwall; their CD disc bears the white on black cross of St Piran.
