Santas will be swapping reindeer for bicycles at a charity ride with a difference this month.

The Santa Sleigh Ride on Saturday, December 15, will raise money for the Chestnut Appeal.

The Devon and Cornwall prostate cancer charity is working alongside Shred Creative Agency in organising two fun-filled rides from the Piazza in Plymouth to the Miner’s Arms pub in Hemerdon for a well-earned drink and a prize draw.

Chestnut is looking for cycle-riding Santas of all ages to don a Father Christmas outfit and saddle up for a three-hour ride starting at 10am.

There will be a choice of two rides on the day, one along the Plym Valley and the other a road trip on Dartmoor, both finishing at the same venue.

The Chestnut Appeal raises funds and awareness across Devon and Cornwall and beyond about a prostate cancer.

It was launched in 2000 and is based at Derriford Hospital.
