Dart RNLI rescues yacht stuck in Dartmouth in tough weather conditions
The Dart RNLI lifeboat battled torrential rain and strong winds to assist a 42 ft yacht with three men on board that lost engine power near Dartmouth at 5.40pm yesterday.
They sailed into the Bight, where they lowered their sails and were taken in tow by the Dartmouth D class inshore lifeboat.
They were secured alongside the Town Quay.
It's believed the owner had recently bought the vessel called Koala and was informed that she carried more fuel than was the case.
"The call out was noteworthy because of the torrential rain, the strength of the wind from the S East and the size of the yacht," said a spokesman for the lifeboat crew.
