Davey backing Torquay United winger Lloyd Macklin to be playing by Christmas
Winger Lloyd Macklin is on course for a return to action for Torquay United by Christmas.
Macklin, who fought his way back in from 'the cold' of the transfer list during the summer, has had his season interrupted by injury, the latest being a broken metatarsal bone sustained just over a month ago.

But today the 23-year-old former Swindon Town player, who had to have the foot bone pinned, is due to have the plaster removed and replaced by a rigid, protective 'boot'.
Plainmoor physiotherapist Damian Davey said: "Everything is going to plan with Lloyd, so far. He's due to have a CT scan in ten days' time, just to make sure that the surgery repairs have done the job.

"He'll be in the boot, which he can take off for exercises and strengthening work, for two weeks and then we're hoping that he can return to light training.
"I'm always a little reluctant to set definite dates for a return from injuries like this, but we're aiming at Lloyd being back by Christmas."
Torquay had to tackle last Saturday's 0-0 draw at Oxford United without recently injured duo Michael Poke in goal and Danny Stevens on the wing.
Poke missed the Kassam Stadium stalemate, where Martin Rice deputised, with a strained abductor muscle in his groin, but Davey said: "Michael's injury seems to have calmed down and he's looking OK.
"Whether he'll be available for this weekend, we're not sure yet. But we're hoping to have him back in training on Thursday and kicking again on Friday."
Stevens, another player whose season has been blighted by injuries, is out with a lower abdomen strain.
At least the Gulls sustained no new injuries at Oxford, and they will have leading scorer Rene Howe back from suspension for the visit of Southend United, managed by former Plymouth Argyle boss Paul Sturrock, to Plainmoor this Saturday.
Meanwhile, in one corner of Plainmoor, preparation work for United's new electronic screen is gaining pace.
The steel framework which will hold the screen, in the corner of the ground between the Popular Side and the Away End, has now been erected.
'Switch-on' is scheduled for the home game against Northampton Town on Saturday, December 15.
Ticket details for the Gulls' forthcoming Devon derbies with Exeter City (Saturday, December 22) and Plymouth Argyle (Boxing Day) have been released.
United host the Grecians at Plainmoor and tickets for Popular Side go on sale at midday on Saturday. Tickets for Bristow's Bench and the Family Stand will go on sale from December 1.
The Gulls then travel to Home Park four days later looking to repeat their 2-1 success over Argyle last season.
