Demand grows for Christmas stalls at Newton Abbot
MORE stalls have been added to Newton Abbot Christmas fayres to help cope with demand.
Born Hectic Events, the organisers of previous year's Christmas events in Totnes, has teamed up with Teignbridge Council and the town development manager Sally Henley to put on two fun-packed evenings of shopping, music and entertainment.

Spokesman Shelly Worthy said: "We have had such a great response to the Newton Abbot event we need to extend the space which we originally allocated for the stalls.
"We have some wonderful entertainment lined up for both evenings and we know shoppers can look forward to a fantastic Christmas-themed event in Newton Abbot town centre."

Sally Henley said: "This new event has been met with real enthusiasm by shoppers, residents and town centre businesses.
"We have a thriving regular market scene throughout the year and so the opportunity to build on this at such a key time was one which we all jumped at.
"Our meeting was to go through plans for the stalls and for the entertainment and we have now allocated more pitches to meet the demand.
"As well as a wide variety of stalls there will also be great street entertainment at different locations around the town. These will include music in Queen Street on the Wetherspoons stage; dancing at Lloyds Bank corner; music outside Austins canopy; photo opportunities and children's entertainment in the Market Walk and music and comedy in the Market Hall.
"To top all this, we have visiting time with Father Christmas in his clock tower grotto. This and all the other entertainment is completely free.
"Christmas is an expensive time so I'm delighted we can offer folks the opportunity to get into the spirit without having to dig any deeper into those pockets."
The fayres will take place on December 12 and 19.
