Detectives hunting car arsonists who also smashed window of attending police car

Police are linking two suspected car arson incidents as well as an attack on a police vehicle.
Firefighters from Crownhill were called to an address in Budshead Road, Whitleigh, at around 5.20am today. They arrived to find a beige Citroen completely ablaze. After extinguishing it using a compressed air foam jet police took control of the scene and began taking statements.
At around 6.12am Crownhill firefighters were called to another blazing vehicle, a white Renault Trafic van, in Sedley Way, close to Ruskin Crescent.

Again, they used compressed air foam to tackle the fire, which left the vehicle completely gutted. Witnesses claimed they saw three youths running from the scene shortly after the fire began
Police have said that at around 6.30am, as officers continued to take statements from witnesses in Budshead Road, a concrete block was hurled through the front passenger window of a marked police vehicle.
Two youths were seen running from the area.
A resident in Budshead Road told The Herald that he returned heard what he thought was "a storm" in the early hours, noting "what sounded like two explosions".
Detectives have now linked all three incidents and are keen to hear from any witnesses who may have seen the culprits.
