Devon's bowlers crashed out of the men’s national inter-county championship on Saturday, beaten 123-107, by Surrey in the Liberty Trophy quarter-finals at the Cotswold club in Stroud.

Only Jamie Chestney and James Webber returned winning cards, and the absent Rob Paxton, who was competing in the world indoor pairs championship in Norfolk, was missed. Exonia ace Paxton and Scot David Gourlay suffered a first round 10-0, 6-6 defeat to Mervyn King and Simon Skelton.
