Devon tavern named pub of the year finalist
An award-winning Devon pub has been shortlisted in a prestigious pub of the year competition.
The Campaign for Real Ale (Camra) has revealed that the four finalists include the Tom Cobley Tavern in Spreyton, Devon.
The other three nominees are: the Conquerer Alehouse in Ramsgate, Kent; last year's winner, the Bridge End Inn, in Ruabon, North Wales, and the Baum in Rochdale, which is sited next to the first Co-op shop.
Camra pubs director Julian Hough outlined the special qualities of the four pubs that had made them finalists.

He said: "These pubs exemplify how combining first quality real ale, listening to the needs of their customer and community base, supporting local breweries and paying attention to detail can drive trade."
The winner will be announced next February.
